Makes the US and the Army lookrnlike total bullshit

Posted By: Run2Win (455 days ago)

Sounds like you could help us win this war. nnWhy did you leave? We
need guys like you who are effective to train and motivate people to
fight for their own country and families. I'd be in favor of flying
our soldiers home and having different training measures employed that
are much more effective. nnOr maybe - just maybe - these guys need to
man up and get the job done! Think hard about how to defeat an enemy
who has no interest in negotiation - only elimination. Are you a US
Congressman? I'm going back to my real world now . . . bye-bye.

Wow. I have worked Special Ops in the Middle East for six years, both
training the Iraqi Police and Iraqi National Guard. This video,
unfortunately, exhibits many characteristics that are typical of a
conventional forces mindset operating in an unfamiliar environment
(research four cultural understanding perspectives).nnI admit, it is
harder than hell to get these guys to the place they need to be. And
yes, you have corrupt police, I'll be the first to say that. But
while degrading their character may work in our culture (this isn't a
football game as was eluded to below, this is war), it does not work
in eastern culture (external honor code).nnAdditionally, nnI have lost
friends in this war and it's been tough. But this soldier's
unprofessionalism is completely out of line. I think of what tactics
I used to encourage my jundi's and they actually responded very well
to intellectual conversation around a cup of chai. I quoted a lot of
T.E. Lawrence actually and it worked like a charm. I can share
success stories for all those that don't believe it can actually
happen.nnThe problem, as I have found in most cases, are soldiers
being put in very difficult training situations, in very difficult
environments, with very little guidance or training on how to do their
jobs. nnAnd I am sorry for all of you guys below. My colleagues and
I have had our share of conversations with you all on this topic; but
most soldiers from your backgrounds refuse to follow counter
insurgency principles. nnThat's why Special Ops has grown in the past
few years.... to make up for all the mistaken ideas listed below. And
hell, if it HASN'T worked for this guy, I can take a pretty good guess
why...

Sometimes you have to chew a little ass to get things done. I've had
to do similar things in the service and out. This guy needs to give a
motivational speech to those clowns in congress and the one that calls
himself president.

To Linny: It is an insult to be compared to a woman when it comes to
that sort of responsibility (i.e. police, military, etc) His comments
were not made to insult women. Everyone in this freakin country is so
quick to jump on stern positions and mere words...even when it is a
matter of life of death. I'm sure he knows and respects women whom he
serves next to. His speech wasn't made to motivate you or the ACLU.

WE NEED TO BRING THIS GUY HOME!MABE HE CAN OPEN THE EYES OF OUR
GOVERMENT!WERE SENDING OUR MEN AND WOMEN OVER THERE TO DO A JOB THAT
THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ SHOULD BE DOING!THE MIDDLE EAST AS BEEN AT WAR WITH
EACH OTHER FOR OVER A THOUSAND YEARS AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE
IT!!!

Posted By: dudubreath (500 days ago)

great toungue lashing. The soldier is getting these guys ready for
when we are gone, taking away their excuses and shaming them
(comparing the men to women) into action. I'm positive the U.S.
soldiers were also eyeballing the crowd to figure out who was militia
using the police force as a way of gaining info.

Posted By: linny (503 days ago)

I totally appreciate this good man giving this straight up- what I
don't appreciate is his comments about calling these cowards women.
Do we not have U.S. women dying over there also? Are they any less
noble than the men? I only wish he would have pointed that out.

Any American male who watches this and doesn't understand the value of
a verbal asskicking to get people riled up and eager to work together
to a common goal is sliding down the liberal hole to oblivion. Listen
to any high school football coach on Friday night, any college
football coach on Saturday afternoon or pro coach on Sunday morning
and you will see the very foundation of what held this country
together through wars, depression and liberal lies and agendas. Hell,
my dad did worse to me, and I thank God he never gave up on me.

Posted By: turffsplace (511 days ago)

You are right sir, they need to kick someone's ass for themselves!
They need to figure it out, go HOME boy's, they WILL figure it out or
so be it, Then we will have to kill them all anyway! BULLSHIT IS
BULLSHIT! SEND THIS TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT!!

Posted By: bushpilot (516 days ago)

this is how we should address our polititians.. they are no better
than the douche bags this guy is talking to!!!

Posted By: MSLee63 (518 days ago)

Go ARMY !!! Sounds like he is sick and tired of the BS/PC,and just
trying to motivate these dipstisks. And you Lib/Dems peices of
excrement who don't support our soldiers, can kiss my arse, your time
is coming.

Posted By: Health (520 days ago)

Semper Fi...excellent heads up for these guys. This guy would make a
GREAT Marine...GO ARMY...War and combat is not a PC exercise...PC only
get's young men and women US military killed.

Posted By: Frank (527 days ago)

This guy needs to run for POTUS. Personal responsibility, bravery,
loyalty.........for the protection of your country? Sounds reasonable
to me.

Posted By: fallison (527 days ago)

It is inappropriate behavior by this one man but I am sure he is sick
of trying to get these guys to be MEN and take responsibility for
their own people. This is the story of men across the Middle East in a
microcosm, however. And that, my friends, is why the Middle East is
stuck in the 8th Century. Their men are losers who have never achieved
anything.rnrn

Posted By: drewkosel (527 days ago)

Harsh language?? are you kidding me. This is absolutely normal
day-to-day behavior. When I was in, we'd get the same kind of pep-talk
from our Sergeants. You either maned up, or died. Bottom line. These
men's lives are at risk and they are fighting a war. It would be
better to pound each one of them into the ground until they get back
up and start to fight. To toughen them up. Plain and simple. This guy
isn't yelling or anything, he's simply telling them how it is.
Wouldn't you be pissed if everyday you go to work and your workers
aren't doing a god damn thing. The troops did ask for a new image, and
I can understand that, they do not look threatening at all, they need
to beef up their uniforms, but they can do that on their own.. they
need to start getting tuff!!

Posted By: gijohn45 (529 days ago)

what most of you don't realize is that they don't recognize our
religion and that if the US was to pullout now this country would fall
flat on is it face... would you give a new teacher 1 days training and
then send them off to teach your kids? I have give speeches like this
to our own troops when I was training US soldiers going off to Iraq...
some get it others don't...

Posted By: Chiefbee05 (530 days ago)

We (USA) put this guy in a bad position to lead and be successful. He
is understandably upset but his speech will not motivate anyone to be
a better policeman. He is venting his frustration in the only
direction he can. The real culprit here is the Iraqi government who
is not using their monies to properly equip and train their police
force (notice his equipment vs the Iraqis). I don’t blame the men
for being unwilling to run up the hill to be slaughtered. This will
only change if/when we (USA) leaves Iraq.

Posted By: Chew2 (530 days ago)

I defend his use of harsh language

Posted By: cavmedic3acr (530 days ago)

Support this guy. I just got home from doing the exact same job for 15
months. Three of my fellows trainers were killed by crooked IA and IP.
If you have a better way to do the job, join the army and lead the
way! Easy to comment on how wrong this guys actions are from your
living room. Take some of his advice and get a backbone.

Posted By: Chuy (531 days ago)

It's certainly understandable to use very harsh language when trying
to light a fire under others. But to continually use the God's name
in vain? That's both unacceptable and a disgrace. Very poor form
indeed.

Posted By: sean (531 days ago)

You are the asshole he is trying to train these guys to protect there
own country and they dont have the balls to stick to there guns and
get the job done!!!!!

Posted By: lt_ahhsumm (531 days ago)

Excellent example of a total asshole. Makes the US and the Army look
like total bullshit. This unprofessional chump should be
court-martialed. I certainly hope he's home safe, and stays home.

Posted By: wildcardtwothree (532 days ago)

thats whats up...if every PTT did that then maybe the IPs would pull
their heads out their asses and march south towards the river...i
never seen an IP on vernon and cedar

Posted By: Spikeritz (532 days ago)

I had the Job as Privincial Police mentor in Kandahar Afghanistn. I
could have give the exact same speech. Only it would have been to our
Canadian Allies. The Afghans when motivated would fight. However, this
is right on target. We carried to the load. Good stuff who ever you
are in the video. Being an advisor was dangerous enough. Being an
advisor to the Police was the most dangerous. Hope he and all his guys
are home and safe.

I wish the GI would go to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and kick the king and
his passifiers.

asses instead keep having the USA babysit!!!

Posted By: SSG_JOKER (535 days ago)

Perfect example of a no BS speech. Now if we could just get the rest
of the leadership on board, we would be way ahead.
